Amani Sewing Academy (ASA) Recognizes Students of the Month

A season of recognition
This quarter, we are proud to recognize our January, February, and March Students of the Month in our Workforce Development “Sewing for Self-Sufficiency” Program.
January: Paw So
February: Fiyori Teklemichael
March: Fatima Khaliqi
Each student was honored with a certificate and a monetary gift in recognition of their excellence and exceptional dedication, growth, and commitment to advancing their sewing skills. These are not small milestones. Behind every certificate is a woman who showed up again and again, threaded patience into practice, and turned effort into a real skill.
Through consistent participation and an eagerness to learn, our Students of the Month are building skills that contribute to greater confidence, independence, and future opportunities. In our Sewing for Self-Sufficiency Program, sewing is a practical pathway to income, stability, and a stronger voice in one’s own future.
More than a certificate
What makes these women stand out is not only their talent at the machine, but their determination to keep growing.
Congratulations to all of our Students of the Month. Your determination and achievements make us incredibly proud. You remind us why this work matters and what becomes possible when women are given the space, support, and tools to thrive.
Support the next class of students. Every Sewing Academy student deserves the chance to learn, grow, and earn. To sponsor a student or learn more, visit amaniwomencenter.org/sewingacademy or call our help line at 1-800-804-4918.
