AWC @ BOA’s Mission Driven Marketplace, New York, NY
At a recent event held at One Bryant Park in New York City, the Bank of America Marketplace by Seneca Women presented an inspiring panel of Global-Driven Marketplace Organizations to the Bank of America National Advisory Council. The event spotlighted social enterprises leading innovative, mission-driven work around the world.
Moderated by Pam Seagle, Senior Vice President of Global Women’s Programs at Bank of America, and AJ Barkley, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, the panel featured four remarkable organizations:
• ArtLifting – Liz Powers
• Amani Women Center – Doris Mukangu
• 1951 Coffee – Doug Hewitt
• Mercado Global – Ruth Alvarez-DeGolia
These organizations exemplify the power of social enterprise to drive meaningful change despite complex challenges. The Bank of America Marketplace by Seneca Women—an online platform—elevates these kinds of ventures by providing increased visibility and access to wider markets, with a special focus on women-owned businesses.
Amani Women Center (AWC) is proud to be among those featured. The event’s mission aligns closely with AWC’s own: accelerating women’s progress through economic empowerment and holistic well-being. We are deeply grateful to our dedicated team of women who bring this mission to life every day.
