AWC at the Park 500 Community Field Day

Amani Women Center was proud to join community partners, families, and local organizations for the Park 500 Community Field Day, a day built around three simple words: Connect · Play · Thrive. A special thank you to DeKalb County Government’s Human Services Department for organizing this wonderful event and creating a space where learning, collaboration, and empowerment can flourish.

Resources within reach

For many refugee and immigrant families, the hardest part of finding help is knowing where to look and being understood once they get there. That’s why our table met families in the languages they speak at home: Amharic, Tigrinya, Somali, Pashto, Kiswahili, French, Dari, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, Karen, Burmese, and Rohingya.

From there, families could learn about and access resources across daily life: Workforce Development, Health & Wellness, Education & Language Access, Housing Stability, Youth Engagement, and Family Support Services, from our Sewing Academy to SNAP application and beyond.

The work continues

Events like these strengthen our community by bringing people together, building relationships, and connecting families to the resources they need to thrive. The day’s impact keeps working in a class enrolled in, a program discovered, and a family that now knows it isn’t navigating a new life alone.

Let’s build community together. To learn more about our programs or partner with us, visit amaniwomencenter.org or call us at 1-800-804-4918 or 770-255-0539.
